Access control enables you to control who has access to your building.
Locks and keys also allow you to secure your building, but when keys are lost or stolen, the inconvenience and expense of changing locks and re-issuing keys can be considerable. Keys may also be copied, creating even more security risks.
All businesses, whether small, medium or large, have assets that need to be protected from theft. There is also the issue of protecting staff and their property. It is common in buildings that are secured by locks and keys for doors to be left unlocked all day. This opens up the possibility of opportunist theft and malicious damage.
Electronic access control provides the most efficient and convenient way of securing your building and assets. Installing an access control system means that you will never have to change a lock again. Tokens are issued to allow access through the controlled doors, and are easily barred from the system if they are lost, stolen or just not returned by someone who leaves your company. Barred tokens will not allow access through the controlled doors.
ASH Lock & Secure is an approved installer of Paxton Access Control systems. We offer a full range of door access control systems for any number of users from the compact and switch2 standalone systems through to Net2, an advanced PC based access control solution which offers centralised administration and control of sites from one to hundreds of doors and with up to 10,000 users. The system is easy to operate and control with links to the fire alarm, offering door release in case of emergency.
The Paxton Net2 system comprises of a controller linked to a server or PC. Door access can be by paxlock, keypad, swipe card or proximity card and a simple push button for exiting.
All actions performed are recorded on a database log with an alarm showing if a door is left open. Doors can be opened remotely from any location with internet access, to allow entry to authorised visitors without the need to visit the site. There is also an option to install multiple sites, all controlled from a single server.
Proximity and Cardlock Systems
This system comes with a pack of user tokens; the system will then be commissioned with an enrolment card which is supplied with the token pack. The enrolment card gives the door reader a unique identity code. All of the tokens in the pack are immediately valid; a token will then be issued to a user. The user can then gain access by presenting the token to the door reader.
The token pack also contains a shadow card, which is the “twin” of the user token. In the event of a user card being lost or stolen, the shadow card should be presented to all of the door readers this immediately bars the lost user token.
Typical applications include:
